The Trust for Public Land is a U.S. nonprofit organization founded in 1972 that facilitates and funds the creation of parks, trails and protected lands across the country. TPL believes that all people need access to nature and the outdoors, in the cities and communities where they live, as a matter of health, equity and justice.

The Trust for Public Land wanted to gain broad community support and advance fundraising for a campaign to preserve the Trampe Ranch, the largest land conservation project in the history of Gunnison County, Colorado. The challenge was to provide an authentic community voice and use a sense of place to tell the story of why it was so important to save the Trampe Ranch.

Blaze assisted TPL with media buys, copywriting, advertising, press releases, newsletters, a case statement, direct mail and e-blasts, and also served as a communications liaison between TPL’s regional team in Denver and partner conservation organizations in Gunnison County.

Successfully raised $24.5 million to permanently protect from future development and subdivision the 6,000-acre heritage ranch owned for generations by the Trampe Family.
